The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling
Funny story with this one actually. :) For the past week I've been crazy obsessing over Harry Potter because in less than a month, the final installment of the Harry Potter movies is coming out. Really...you don't understand...I'm FREAKING OUT! So, in preparation I was re-skimming over all the books, and I was going through all the fan-sites like a madwoman. Yes, it was necessary. Anyway, I was at Target just aimlessly wandering around when...BAM! I spotted the Tales. And it fit perfectly because I was reading the part of the Three Brothers in HP7. All righty. Time to get back to the book.
With this one, I'm going to be a bit [really] bias. I think it's absolutely wonderful. J.K. Rowling always has a way with words and nothing she does is half-a**ed. She's amazing. The tales deal with morals and can be related to stories such as Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. However, none of the tales are actually all that cheery and princess-y. In fact, they are less children-oriented because they do deal with certain themes that may need critical insight [not giving too much away, you still have to read the book]. :) The notes that Albus Dumbledore has written at the end of each tale, gives the book character. Once again, Rowling has outdone herself. HP fans should definitely buy this book. It's definitely a collector's item.
***Side Note: JK ROWLING is having an Announcement in 5 days. Her Youtube page looks incredible and has a owl-themed countdown. I'm just super excited and I honestly can't wait for her to spill the beans.
